Rajasthani Dal Dhokli

Hi foodies,

Today I am sharing spicy one pot meal recipe – Rajasthani Dal Dhokli.
It is very popular and delicious Rajasthani dish and usually prepared in rainy season.
In this dish wheat and corn flour dumpling cooked in green lentils curry with some spices.
Enjoy this mouthwatering dish.




Recipe will serve 2

Ingredients:-

For Dhokli:-

Whole wheat flour – ¾ cup
Corn flour – ¼ cup
Carom seeds – ½ tsp
Oil – 1 tbsp
Salt – as per taste
Red chili powder – ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Coriander powder – ½ tsp
Asafetida – a pinch
Water – ½ cup

For Dal:-

Boiled green dal – 1 cup
Green chilies – 2
Dried red chilies – 2
Chopped Garlic clove – 3
Red chili powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Garam masala – ¼ tsp
Coriander powder – ½ tsp
Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Water – 2 cups
Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
Clarified butter/ ghee – 2 tbsp
Oil – 2 tbsp

Directions:-
 









1) In a mixing bowl add all above mentioned ingredients of making dhokli except water and mix well.
2) Now add little water at a time knead soft dough and let the dough rest for about 15 20 mins.
3) After that make marble size balls from the dough and set aside.
4) Now heat oil in deep bottom pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and dried red chilies.
5) Cook for 5 sec and add chopped garlic and mix well.
6) Now add all dry spices and mix well. Add 2 tbsp water unless masala will burn.
7) Now add boiled dal in the pan and mix well with masala.
8) Add 2 cups water and stir well and let the dal boil on medium flame. You can add more water if required
9) Once dal start boiling add dhokli one by one in it.
10) Cook it for about 15 -20 mins on medium flame or until dholki cook completely. Keep stir unless dhokli will stick at the bottom.
11) Now add chopped coriander leave and again cook for 1-2 mins.
12) Add ghee in dal dhokli while serving.
13) Enjoy this yummy one pot meal.

Bhindi ka Salan – Fried okra in spicy south Indian gravy

Hello Foodies,
Today I am sharing delicious south Indian entrĂ©e recipe – Bhindi ka Salan. I made this recipe with some south Indian spices and fried okras. Enjoy this recipe.



Recipe will serve 2

Ingredients:-


Bhindi /okra – 9-10
Coconut powder – 1 tbsp
Peanuts – 2 tbsp
Sesame seeds – 1 tbsp
Garlic cloves – 3
Ginger – ½ inch cube
Green chilies – 2
Dried red chilies – 2
Curry leaves – 7-8 leaves
Coriander leaver – 1 tbsp
Sliced onion – ½ cup
Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Fenugreek/ methi seeds -1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – ½ tsp
Red chili powder  - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Tamarind juice - ½ cup
Jaggery / gud – 1 tsp
Water – ½+ ½  cup
Oil – 2 tbsp + for frying okra
Salt as per taste

Directions:-















1) In a pan dry roast peanut, sesame seeds and coconut powder for 4-5 mins on slow flame.
2) Switch off the flame on add ginger, garlic cloves and green chilies. And let the mixture cool down. Now add ½ cup water and ground it into smooth paste.
3) Heat deep bottom pan and deep fry bhindis .
4) Take out the excessive oil from pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, methi seeds, curry leaves and dried red chilies. Stir well.
5) Now add sliced onion and mix it well.
6) Now add ground paste and let it cook for 5-6 mins.
7) Now add all dry spices and mix well with ground paste.
8) Add ½ cup water and let the mixture cook for 10 – 15 mins on medium flame.
9) Now add jaggey and tamarind juice and mix. Again cover the pan and let it cook for another 10 mins on slow flame.
10) Now add fried okras and mix well in gravy. Cover the pan and cook it on slow flam for about 4-5 mins.
11) Now add chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
12) Serve hot with paratha/roti/rice.
