Almond Sukhdi


Hello Foodies,

Today I am sharing very popular and delicious Gujarati dish – Almond Sukhdi.
Sukhdi is also known as Gol papadi. This is very healthy and nutritious dish especially for kids.
I made this dish with whole wheat flour, ghee, jaggery and almonds.
Enjoy this recipe.





Yield – 14-15 pieces

Ingredients:-


Whole wheat flour – 1 ½ cup
Clarified butter – ¾ cup
Jaggery / gud – ½ cup
Chopped almonds – ½ cup
Sliced almonds – for garnishing
Cardamom powder – a pinch

Directions:-













1) Heat ghee in pan. Add whole wheat flour and mix well with ghee.
2) Cook flour and ghee mixture on medium flame until light golden brown in color. 
3) Now add cardamom powder in mix well with mixture.
4) Add chopped almond and again mix well with mixture.
5) Now switch off the flame and let the mixture cool down for 5 mins. By doing this we will get soft texture of sukhdi.
6) Add grated jaggery and mix with flour- almond mixture and transfer the mixture on pre greased deep bottom plate.
7) Garnish it with sliced almonds and let the mixture cool down for 10 mins.
8) After 10 mins cut the sukhdi on your desired shape.
9) Enjoy this yummy sweet.

Methi Mathari

Hello Foodies,

Today I am sharing yummy tea time snack recipe – Methi Mathari.  It is very popular fried savory snack.
I made with dried kasuri methi, some spices and all-purpose flour. Enjoy this recipe.





Yield – 20 25 Matharis

Ingredients:-

All-purpose flour - 1 ½ cup
Clarified butter / Ghee – 2 tbsp
Black pepper powder – ¼ tsp
Carom seeds – ½ tsp
Dried karsuri methi – 2tbsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Salt as per taste
Oil – for deep fry
Water – ½ cup

Directions:-








1) In a mixing bowl add all-purpose flour, salt, turmeric powder, dried kasuri methi, pepper powder, carom seeds and ghee. Now mix well until you get crumbly dough.
2) Now using little water knead soft dough and cover the dough with wet kitchen towel and let the dough rest for half an hour.
3) Now divide the dough into equal lime size balls.
4) Now make one inch round circle and repeat the same with rest of the dough.
5) With the help of fork or knife make few holes on mathari. by doing this we will get nice crispy mathari.
6) Now heat oil in deep bottom pan and fry all mathari until golden brown in color.
7) Enjoy methi mathari with tea/ coffee.
