Rajasthani Gatte ki Sabji

Today I am sharing very popular Rajasthani dish: Gatte ki Sabji. Gatta is made with besan/chickpeas flour and gravy is made with yogurt and some spices. This dish is made with ghee which gives very nice aroma and rich taste. Enjoy this recipe.

Ingredients:-


For Gattas:

Besan/chickpeas flour (course) – ½ cup
Carom seeds – ¼ tsp
Red chili powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Coriander powder – ½ tsp
Salt as per taste
Asafetida – a pinch  
Oil – 2 tbsp
Water – for boiling gattas + kneading the dough

For Gravy:-

Yogurt – ½ cup
Besan /chickpeas flour – 1 tsp
Red chili powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Coriander powder – ½ tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1tbsp
Garam masala – ¼ tsp
Salt – as per taste
Ghee – 4 tbsp
Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbsp

Directions:-

1)      In a mixing bowl add all above mentioned ingredients for gattas except water and mix well.
2)      Now add little water at a time and knead medium soft dough.
3)      Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes.
4)      Now divide the dough in equal parts and make cylinder shape out of it.
5)      In deep pan boil water and add gattas in it.
6)      Let it boil for about 15 minutes.
7)      Once the gatta are done take out the gattas out of pan and let it cool down completely.
8)      Save the boiled water for gravy.
9)      For gravy take mixing bowl and add yogurt, besan, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt and garam masala.
10)   Whisk it well and make sure there is no lump in the batter.
11)   In a deep sauce pan add ghee.
12)   Now add cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
13)   Once the seeds crackled add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
14)   Now add yogurt gravy in it and mix well.
15)   Keep stirring the gravy for about 5-6 minutes.
16)   Once ghee ooze out of the gravy add boiled water and let it boil for 7-8 minutes.
17)   Now add gattas in the gravy and let it boil again for 5-6 minutes.  
18)   Now add chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with paratha/ roti.

Chocolate and M&M Cookie bars


Hello foodies,

Everyone loves M&M. Today I am sharing delicious cookie bar recipe. I made these cookie bars with M&M and chocolate. Enjoy your tea time with this yummy recipe.










Ingredients:-

M&M – ½ cup+ few for sprinkle on top
Chocolate diced – 1 cup
Unsalted butter – 1/2 cup
All-purpose flour – 1 ½ cups
Baking soda – 1 tsp
Baking powder – 1tsp
Salt – a pinch
Sugar – ¾ cup
Eggs – 2
Vanilla essence – few drops











Directions:-

1)      Preheat oven at 350 degree F.
2)      In a large mixing bowl add butter and sugar. Blend until smooth paste.
3)      Now add 2 large egg and beat again until smooth paste.
4)      Now in another bowl sift all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
5)      Add sifted mixture in butter – sugar and eggs mixture.
6)      Now add M&M and chocolate and again mix well.
7)      Mix well with the help of spatula.
8)      Grease square or rectangle baking pan with butter and pour the cookie batter in it.
9)      Sprinkle some M&M on top of the batter.
10)   Bake the cookies bars at 350 degree F for 15 mins or until golden in color.
11)   Take the baking pan out of the oven and allow it to cool completely.
12)   Once cool completely, cut the cookies in square bar shape.
13)   Serve with tea/coffee.

Gulkand Bread

Welcome back to my food blog and thank you so much for appreciating my blog. Now I am back with new interesting and yummy recipes.

Today I am sharing GULKAND BREAD recipe with you. Gulkand is made with rose petals.
It has very nice aroma of rose. My mom brought gulkand for me from India. So I was thinking to make something with this and made gulkand bread. This bread is made without sugar. Hope you like it.




Ingredients:-

Gulkand – ½ cup
All-purpose flour – 1 ½ cups
Baking soda – 1 tsp
Baking powder - 1tsp
Salt – a pinch
Milk – 1 cup
Melted Butter – ½ cup
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

Directions:-











1) Pre heat the oven at 350 degree F.
2) Grease bread loaf pan with butter.
3) In a large bowl add all dry ingredients flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and mix well.
4) Take another large mixing bowl add milk and gulkand and mix well. Gulkand has honey like consistency, so it will take time to mix with milk.
5) Now add all dry ingredients and mix well.
6) Add melted butter and mix well.
7) Now add lemon juice and mix it again.
8) Pour the batter in baking pan and give a nice tap.
9) Bake it for 20 – 25 mins or until done.
10) Take a toothpick test for best results.
11) Take out the bread out of oven and let it cool down completely.
12) Now demold the bread from pan and cut even slices.
13) Enjoy this gulkand bread with tea or coffee.
